Dark Inner Thighs
by Sharon Hopkins
There are various reasons why the skin around the inner thighs can get dark. These reasons include profuse sweating or use of certain lotions and creams that can cause the skin to darken. Some of the creams or lotions may have a reaction to one’s skin and thus cause the darkening to occur.
Also removal of hair from these areas with the use of a razor or other hair removal creams can could be another cause of skin darkening.
Thus to avoid skin darkening some of the main changes one needs to institute are basic cleanliness and hygiene. Before using any hair removal creams one need to check if they are compatible with one’s skin type.
One should have plenty of baths and keep the area around one’s thighs as dry as possible. Rubbing of one’s thighs against each other which is referred to as chaffing can also be another cause of darkening of one’s skin. To prevent this chaffing one needs to prevent the friction of skin by wearing loose garments like shorts or trousers. It is also essential that one wear cotton garments and not wear nylon or any other synthetic garment. Hence cotton undergarments are also very essential. The uric acid that gets released as part of one’s sweat can cause the skin to darken. This can also cause excessive sweating to occur and in this way result in the darkening of one’s skin. One can try using some baby powder to keep the area cool and sweat free. Avoid using any deodorants or perfumes in this area as even these can have an adverse reaction on one’s skin and cause that area to darken. Avoid using any soaps or products that contain harsh chemicals as they can irritate the skin and cause rashes and darkening. One should try using some kind of natural cleaners and herbal soaps. One can try taking some freshly squeezed lemon and rubbing this over the skin that has darkened. Lemon has certain properties that can aid in lightening the sin tone. Similarly one can try mixing some olive oil and some water and rubbing it over the area to help in lightening the skin. One can even mix some lemon juice along with some cucumber paste and spread over the area. This can be kept for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then wash off the mixture with some warm water. Another remedy is to try applying some yogurt to help in lightening the skin tone.
