Tips to get rid of dark skin
Discoloring of the inner thighs and buttocks generally happens due to constant friction, which happens when you are overweight in the concerned areas. The constant rubbing of skin makes the skin appear darker than normal. So the first thing to do is to loose weight on your thighs and buttocks with the adequate exercise to stop the friction – the discolouring will gradually fade. Stay away from synthetic fabrics since they increase sweating and friction – wear more of cotton and linen clothing, particularly in summer. You should also dust a light talcum powder on your thighs after your shower.
Apart from that lemon acts as natural bleach, so you can try applying it on your inner thighs before bathing and wash it off around 10-15 minutes later. Another good home remedy is daily application of a pack made with 1 tsp oatmeal powder, 1 tsp sandalwood powder and 1 tsp buttermilk. This helps reduce the darkening and also to smoothen the skin. A healthy diet rich in vegetables, fruits, yoghurt and plenty of water also helps keep the skin healthy and thus prevent further discolouration. If however, the discoloration is due to hormonal or genetic factors, then these remedies will not help much and consultation with a specialist is recommended.
