Prognosis of Prostatitis

The prognosis of prostatitis is as follows:

  • Acute bacterial prostatitis can be cured completely with a course of antibiotic treatment.
  • Chronic bacterial prostatitis may recur even with treatment. However chronic prostatitis is usually asymptomatic.
  • Asymptomatic prostatitis may not require any treatment since it rarely results in any symptoms.
