How to treat scars caused by chaffing

Chafing is a mild skin condition that refers to the tenderness of the skin caused by the rubbing of skin on skin and skin on clothes or other materials over a period of time. The constant friction causes irritation and often occurs in the inner thighs, armpits, nipples, and groin region. The condition is more common in obese people and among athletes. It also occurs when ill fitting clothes are worn, for example, poor fitting brassieres in women.

Chafing can be bothersome causing pain and redness of skin with a burning sensation. It worsens when the moisture content is more, which happens due to excess sweating. Chafing of the skin worsens when not treated immediately; the skin becomes sore and dry and hardens forming scars.
