Home remedy for baby teething

What is a good home remedy for babies teething

Teething is where the first set of teeth appear during the sixth and eight month from birth. There is growth of teeth from the gums. This can be a painful experience for the babies. The baby may feel cranky and irritable, he may not be able to sleep comfortably in the night, there may be slight fever and runny nose, and there may be a bulge in the gums where the tooth is erupting out.

Certain Home remedies that can be useful during baby teething are:
  • Allow the baby to chew teething rings that has been refrigerated. This works well and the baby feels good. You can also allow the baby to chew a moistened clean wash cloth.
  • Wrap a cold apple wedge with an infant sized wash cloth and allow the baby to chew and let the gums pass through so that the sweetness can pass into their mouth.
  • Massage the gums gently with a clean washcloth that has been wrapped on a fore finger. This can prevent the build up of bacteria in the gums.
  • Give baby a bottle of cold water. This can be soothing for the babies.

If fever stays on long period of time then it is advisable to consult a doctor.
