Diet and remedies for internal hemorrhoids



Piles are usually of two types: dry or bleeding. The dry type of piles causes more pain and the bleeding kind of piles makes a person very weak. Dry piles cause an inflammation and continuous pain; the pain becomes unbearable while emptying the bowels. The bleeding piles cause anemia and weakness due to the loss of blood. Piles are caused due to unhealthy eating habits, chronic constipation, eating an excess of foods like meats, spicy and oily processed foods, wines, etc. It can also be caused due to lack of physical activity and exercise and an unhealthy liver. You need to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle in order to treat piles effectively and completely. Eat fresh simple foods such as raw fruits, which are high in fiber. Avoid too much of refined, processed foods, as they do not have fiber, which is essential for proper digestion and normal stools. Practice yoga or exercise regularly, even if this is just a daily walk. Eating well and keeping your body active will maintain a healthy digestive system that will prevent constipation and will help to treat piles.

To ease the discomfort you may try the following:

  • Consume half a teaspoon of sesame seeds with a little butter. Or make a poultice of sesame seeds and apply on the affected area externally.
  • You could also apply a hot poultice made from dry radish. Also drink radish juice two times a day for at least about a month to relieve and treat the discomfort.
  • Buttermilk with a little salt and pepper should be consumed daily to treat piles.
  • Take eleven rose petals and crush them in 50ml of pure water. Have this mixture immediately. Do this for three days for quick relief. This is a cooling remedy for your body and helps to relieve the symptoms.
  • Figs are also very good to relieve constipation and ease the discomfort. You can soak 4 figs in water overnight and have this the next day morning on an empty stomach.
  • Drink lots of water throughout the day. At least 8 to 10 glasses in a day to flush out the toxins and prevent constipation and pain.
  • Take a teaspoon of lemon juice, a teaspoon of fresh mint juice and a tablespoon of honey. Mix these well and have this at least three times a day for relief from painful piles.
