I am 59 years old with internal piles, I have a bit sugar also. Will it be hazardous to my health?

Piles or hemorrhoids refers to a medical condition in which the veins in the anal region are inflamed and swollen. They can either be external or internal. In external piles, the veins just outside the anus are swollen and this leads to excruciating pain while passing stools. In internal piles, on the other hand, it is the veins inside the anus that are swollen and this can lead to a discharge of blood, bursting of the veins and consequent bleeding. The condition begins with an itching in the anal region, followed by difficulty in passing stools, soreness of the anus and severe discomfort and pain while sitting. The main causes for hemorrhoids or piles are chronic constipation and bowel disorders due to which intense pressure is exerted on the veins in the anal region, leading to inflammation and swelling. Since there is an increased pressure on the lower part of the body during pregnancy, many pregnant women suffer from this problem. Other factors responsible for piles or hemorrhoids are obesity, weakness of tissues, an excessively sedentary lifestyle or even one which involves long periods of standing in one position as well as stress of any kind.

If you are suffering from piles, you should immediately limit your consumption of meats, junk foods, fried and processed food and modify your diet so that it includes plenty of fiber found in fresh fruits and vegetables, in order to ease and regulate bowel movement. It is crucial to treat and prevent constipation in order to treat hemorrhoids. It is also important to change your lifestyle by exercising regularly, to strengthen the muscles in the abdominal and rectal region. You can also go on a detoxification diet for a week to cleanse your system completely. You can start by taking only coconut water and fresh fruit juices the first day, following it with a pure fruit diet and gradually increasing it to steamed vegetables. This will cleanse intestines and give your digestive tract the much needed rest, thus treating any problems of constipation or bowel disorders. In addition to this, you can resort to other simple home remedies to treat the piles. You can soak 3 to 4 figs overnight and consume them with the water first thing in the morning and once again in the evening. If this treatment is continued for 2 to 3 weeks, you will notice a considerable improvement in your condition, since this helps to ease the passage of stools, thus reducing the pressure on the anus and eventually reducing the swelling. You can also consume 1.5 to 2 gm of powdered mango seeds which have been dried in the sun before being ground, with some honey twice a day for treating bleeding piles.
