Can Appendicitis cause skin irritation on or around the torso area? I have a sharp itching feeling which is uncontrollable. Please help!

Appendicitis is a medical condition where the appendix is inflamed. Usually this affects people who are between ten and thirty. In most cases appendicitis is considered a medical emergency. It is usually treated by performing a surgery. The surgery is performed in order to remove the appendix. The reason for this medical condition to be considered a medical emergency is that delay can cause the appendix to burst. If the appendix bursts then it can cause an infection which could even, in some cases, lead to death.

When a person is suffering from Appendicitis, he will notice pain in the middle of the abdomen. Usually this pain is centered around the belly button. The pain then moves to the lower right abdomen. This change of the location of pain takes about twenty four hours. Usually the person who is suffering from Appendicitis also complains of a lack of appetite. He may also suffer from nausea and also vomit a few times. In addition to this he may have fever. Appendicitis takes anywhere between four to forty eight hours to develop. In this time a person suffering from this condition will experience these symptoms in varied degrees of intensity. In addition some people may suffer from diarrhea or constipation. In others this is manifest as a change in the bowel movements rather than any specific changes.

As you can see these symptoms are very much like those experienced when suffering from gastroenteritis. However, Appendicitis does not cause a person to develop skin irritation on any part of the body. Also Appendicitis does not cause stabbing pains. You will first experience the pain as low intensity pain which will then intensify with the passage of time.

From the description of the symptoms of Appendicitis, you will have realized that you are not suffering from this medical condition. However the stabbing pains that you are suffering from sound painful. You should not ignore them. Pain in the abdomen can be caused by a variety of reasons. You could simply be suffering from indigestion or the after effects of over eating. On the other hand this could be due to gallstones or even kidney stones. You can try using a hot water bottle to your stomach to provide relief. If the pain reduces in a short while, then you can be sure that it is only caused by something to do with your digestion. On the other hand if this does not seem to have any effect on your stomach pain, you should consider seeing a doctor. If the stomach pain is accompanied by other symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting or feeling of nausea, then you should consult your doctor immediately.
