Natural cures for teen acne

As you go through puberty, hormonal changes cause your skin to become oily and prone to acne. Although acne is the most common skin problem, there are various methods to reduce and eliminate acne completely. Your skin produces a kind of natural oil called sebum and an overproduction of this oil causes facial pores to get clogged and bacteria within the pores make your skin break out into white or blackheads. The best way to keep your pores clean is to wash your face regularly with warm water. Warm water helps to dissolve excess facial oils as well as grime. Make sure that you use a mild face wash that is meant for your skin type. Washing your face too frequently especially with harsh cosmetic washes can aggravate your acne. Try to avoid processed foods like white bread and noodles as they often trigger outbreaks.

You can use any cream that contains benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide will kill the bacteria that cause acne as well as help your skin to slough off faster, therefore reducing the risk of clogging. However, benzoyl peroxide can leave your skin dry and flaky and so I suggest that you use the cream only as a spot treatment. Use a face pack made out of Fuller's earth at least once or twice a week. This will help to draw out excess sebum and is therefore one of the best natural methods to treat acne. Try not to use cosmetic creams and powders as these often clog your pores and when choosing any product make sure that it is Noncomedogenic. You can also apply a little garlic juice on your face for about an hour at least once a week. Although Garlic juice will kill off acne-causing bacteria, do not keep the juice on for too long as it can aggravate sensitive skin.
