I used pumice stone to clean my underarm which resulted in black and fungal formation which is spreading to my neck, back, under breast folds and stomach. Give me home remedy to clear it forever.

pIt seems a bit unlikely that the fungal infection has been caused by the use of pumice stone. The major cause of a fungal infection is lack of ventilation in moist parts of the body. And, yes, fungal infection does spread from one part of the body to the other. You need to first prevent the infection from spreading further. For that, maintain personal hygiene and keep your skin as dry as possible. Wear loose fitting cotton clothes that can breathe. Heavy and synthetic only aggravates the infection. You also need to bring about some dietary changes. Consume enough vitamins A, C, and vitamin E in your daily diet. You also need to cut down on your consumption of sugary food and avoid alcohol as much as possible. A healthy diet with lots of raw vegetables, fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables, and whole grains will be highly beneficial. You must especially include yogurt and olive oil in your diet as they have natural antifungal properties. You must also not share your personal belongings with anyone to keep the infection from spreading.

You can prevent the infection from spreading and also cure it with tea tree oil, which has natural antifungal and antibacterial properties. There are many ways in which you can avail of the goodness of tea tree oil. Topically apply it to the infected areas or mix it with water and dab it on the skin. Another way of using tea tree oil is adding about four drops of the oil to a bath tub of warm water and soaking in it for 20 minutes everyday. Alternatively, add 10 drops of the oil to shower gel and cleanse your body with it everyday. You can also choose a soap that contains tea tree oil. Vinegar also has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Apple cider vinegar is especially beneficial but you can use any other vinegar too. Apply it directly on the affected parts or draw a bath with half a cup of vinegar added to water and soak in it for 20 minutes. Let your skin air dry after that. Topically applying olive oil or lavender oil also has positive effects on the infection. Before going to bed, soak in a bath of water and Epsom salt for 20 minutes, apply castor oil on the affected regions and let it stay overnight. If these do not help you, you must see a dermatologist immediately.

Fungal infection or yeast infection occurs commonly in moist environments where there is minimal air circulation. Some precautions that you need to take so as to avoid further spreading of the fungal infection are as follows:

  • Maintain personal hygiene. Use your own set of toiletries and towels.
  • Bathe frequently.
  • Keep your skin as dry as possible.
  • Avoid wearing synthetic clothes, instead go for cotton wear.
  • Wear loose-fitting fabrics that you are comfortable in and that allow your skin to breathe freely.
  • Wear well-ventilated shoes.

You can make certain changes to your dietary regime. Include plenty of Vitamin A, C, and E in your diet. Minimize on sugars and refined carbohydrates in your diet. Avoid alcohol as much as you can. Eat plenty of green leafy vegetables, whole grains, and yoghurt. You can also include olive oil because it has a natural antifungal effect.

Use herbal treatments such as black walnut, myrrh, and the oil of castor bean. Another home remedy is to add 5 drops of tea tree oil in water and use it as an ointment. You can also add 5-10 drops of tea tree oil to your shampoo or use soap that has tea tree oil as one of the main constituents for cleansing your body. You can also sprays of citrus seed extract on the affected regions.
