I have a very itchy rash on my butt that I can't get rid of it. I have tried all kinds of itch relief. I have tried Goldbond powder and tea tree oil. Can someone give me some advice as to what this is?

Body rashes, commonly manifested in the form of red, itchy and/or scaly patches and even blisters on a particular part of the body or spread all over can lead to intense discomfort and burning sensation in the affected area. Rashes are generally caused due to allergies or skin diseases, reactions to certain fibres or cosmetic products or even food. Another common cause for rashes is heat and thus many people suffer from rashes during summer, especially regions with a hot and humid climate.

The simplest way to treat body rashes is to keep the affected area as clean as possible, avoiding exposure to any form of heat, including sunlight and even hot water. Avoid wearing tight clothes and using synthetic fibres; opt for loose clothing and light cottons that let the skin breathe. You could try washing the affected area with chamomile tea which helps soothe the itchiness. Application of Aloe Vera gel and Cod Liver oil on the affected area also helps. Another popular home remedy is application of baking powder on the rash affected parts of the body. Finally, if the rash persists then it is advised to consult a dermatologist for exact diagnosis and eventual treatment of the problem.
