WHEN I LIE DOWN MY HEART BEAT REALLY FAST, WHAT CAN I DO

Palpitations in some form or the other are experienced by everyone at some stage in life. However these palpitations in normal people occur when they perform severe strain in a physical form during exercise or while climbing stairs and sometimes during a brisk walk. Rapid heartbeat is also caused due to mental duress or stressing situations. However if you notice that your heart beats faster than usual only when you are lying down then you must visit the doctor who will put you through the electrocardiogram and other simple tests to rule out any disturbances. Most people who experience abnormal heart beats without any physical activity stand the risk of either thyroid disease, heart disorders a panic attack or another unrelated disorders that would require immediate attention and treatment.

Some people experience rapid heartbeat after they have done some strenuous activity and remain still or lay down immediately after the activity. If that’s the case with you then you would not have reason to panic as the body is regulating itself after a physical activity. Sometimes too much caffeine in your diet could also cause the jittery feeling and rapid heartbeat sensation. Try decreasing or at best eliminate it from your diet and check if these symptoms still occur.
