You can increase your consumption of biotin rich foods or take supplements. It is found in small doses in foods like eggs, cheese, beef, liver, chicken, and peanuts. It is easier to take supplements as you will know for sure how much biotin you have consumed. The right dose for each day would be 30-100 mcg. This prevents hair loss and has no serious repercussions.

Zinc is an important mineral for hair growth, as it is synthesized in the body. You may have to take supplements if there is a deficiency. Zinc should be taken in moderate amounts and taken in addition to nutritious diet. The maximum dose of 100 mg of zinc can be taken. For hair thinning supplements, you need to look for products that will reduce dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Hair follicles start shrinking when DHT levels rise. DHT levels can be lowered with the intake of saw palmetto as it is able to block 5 alpha-reductase enzymes and avoid hair thinning or loss. Similarly, green tea also prevents hair loss. Remember to take supplements that are made with the right mix of ingredients.
