Prognosis of Pleural Effusion

The prognosis of pleural effusion depends on the cause of the condition. If there is an underlying disease, which is causing pleural effusion, its treatment is extremely important for ensuring completely recovery. However, if the condition is untreatable, the treatment of the effusion will not be completely possible and even if the fluid is removed, it is most likely to recur.
