Chigger is commonly known as harvest milts. Chigger bite does not cause any disease. It can only get infection.
It is harmless. No need to go to the doctor. If it irritates you for more then 2 weeks you can see your doctor.
The simple treatments for chigger bite are many –
- First wash out the area with soap and water. Rub the area gently. You can apply paste of baking soda and water.
- Applying crushed aspirin is also helpful.
- For itching apply clear nail polish on area.
- Rubbing Vicks vapor rub is also helpful.
- Applying fresh damped mud on bite gives relief.
- You can apply vinegar on the area for relief from itching.
- Olive oil added in vinegar can be applied on bite.
- Touching the very hot water with the help of washcloth gives relief from itching.
- Aloe Vera gel is also helpful.
- Rub the bite with Listerine.
