I've heard that elevating the head of your bed will help gastric reflux. How many inches do you suggest it bed be elevated?

Yes elevating the head of your bed does help to avoid gastric reflux when it is combined with proper dietary measures and medications. Approximately an elevation of 45 degrees or 1 feet distance from the bed would help.
Besides avoid smoking, alcohol, fatty or oily foods, peppermint and chocolates.
Lose weight if you are above your ideal body weight.
Avoid sleeping immediately after a meal. Instead take your main meals 2-3 hours before your sleeping time to avoid a gastric reflux.
