I have a white tongue, dry mouth, thirsty, cough. Please help.

These could be the side effects of having steroids or antibiotics. As you also feel thirsty so the symptoms might be caused by dehydration. Drink at least 1 liter of water everyday. You can try some of these home remedies for and white tongue but please consult your physician if the symptoms persist.

The whiteness in the tongue can be Thrush caused due to some fungal infection. Keep some common salt on your for as long as possible and let it properly spread it on your tongue.

Take some Listerine mouthwash in your mouth and swish it around in your mouth for around for a few seconds and then spit it out. Repeat this two more times and do it once daily.

You can also apply powdered charcoal on your tongue for a minute and then rinse your mouth. Do this every night before going to sleep.

Buy some vegetable glycerin from any health food store and brush your teeth and tongue with it at nights. It not only removes the white coating from your tongue but also whitens teeth.

Mix 1/8th tsp of cayenne pepper powder in warm water and put it on you tongue for as long as you can bear. This will also cure your cough.
