Oily hair remedies

Hair loss is a common affliction that affects almost everyone at some point of time or the other. It can be caused due to hormonal deficiencies, dietary changes, and environmental factors like pollution. You need to imbibe some basic hair care tips to ensure a healthy growth of hair. Oily hair is signified usually by dull hair, limpness and the need to frequently shampoo, in order to maintain bounce and shine.

Hair loss can be arrested with the use of several homemade remedies. fenugreek seeds are rich in compounds that help thicken the hair fiber. Soak a handful of fenugreek seeds in a bowl of water overnight. Mash the seeds to form a thin paste. Apply the paste to your hair and scalp and leave it on for at least 30 minutes before washing your hair. Always use a mild shampoo to wash off your hair, preferably one that is gentle enough to be used daily. This treatment is very effective and can be included as part of your regular hair care regimen as well. Hot oil treatment is also very effective in reducing hair fall. Blend castor oil in an olive oil or almond oil base and heat it until it is at a temperature for application on your scalp. Massage the oil with a cotton swab for better absorption, let the oil stay on in your scalp for 4 hours approximately, rinse off the oil using warm water and follow it up immediately with a conditioner. Remember that while using conditioner, wash your hair with cold water, as this helps in moisture retention. One thing that you must remember is that castor oil, though excellent in promoting hair growth, is usually very thick. Hence, you might face some problem in washing it off your scalp.

Homemade shampoos are also better as they do not contain chemicals that are included in most over-the-counter shampoos. Acacia concinna and soap nuts can be boiled in order to get a natural base of shampoo. If fresh Indian gooseberry is available to you, blend 1-2 of these fruits and mix the juice with your shampoo base. If these are available only in powder form, you can mix a table spoon in a glass of water and warm it, strain it once it has cooled down, and add this liquid to your shampoo base. Indian Gooseberry is very rich in Vitamin C and helps increase hair volume. Also, you can add a raw egg to your oil massage therapy at least once a week. Eggs are very rich in protein and nourish the shafts of the hair to make them smooth. Make sure that you are regular with your hair care internally and externally for best results.
