Oily scalp remedies

Hair care is very important as it adds to the beauty of a woman and also avoids any issues related to the hair. An oily scalp is a very common problem faced by many and is becoming a concern for a number of people. The reasons for an oily scalp are many and the scalp can also itch at times causing a great deal of inconvenience. An oily scalp and hair are the result of too much production of sebum that is primarily a result of changes in hormones, stress, hot temperatures, lot of brushing, skin problems, a poor diet and so on. Excessive use of hair care products like shampoos and conditioners especially those that contain a number of chemicals cause the scalp to go dry that eventually results in open pores which make it easier for fungus to breed. Dandruff can be the outcome of an oily scalp which results in small flakes that are formed on the scalp that can be seen on the surface of your head and fall every time you comb your hair or scratch it. The very first thing you need to do is use a mild herbal shampoo to wash your hair and also use a mild conditioner.

Lemon is said to be a great way to treat an oily scalp especially if it is accompanied by a considerable amount of itching. If the itching is a result of dandruff, you can apply lemon juice to your scalp and keep it on for around 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off well. Massages are great to treat an oily scalp and this can be done by coconut milk that is freshly got from the coconut shavings. After massaging your scalp with it, let it stay for a while and rinse thoroughly with water. You can apply tea tree oil as it helps in removing the excess oil as well as get rid of dandruff. Similarly, eucalyptus oil also helps to treat an oily scalp as it controls the rate of natural production of oil of the scalp and aids to reduce inflammation and itchiness. To prevent further damage to your hair, lead a stress free life and eat a healthy and nutritious diet as it reflects healthy hair and keeps the scalp good too and drink a lot of water as that helps to flush out the toxins from the body.
