Tonic for sore throat

Sometimes after I sing my voice sounds different. And the next day I usually get a sore throat. Is there a tonic or tea i can drink to relieve this.

To help soothe the throat, try Slippery Elm lozenges.  These can be found at your local health food store.  Marshmallow tea with a teaspoon of organic honey is also very soothing to the throat.

To prevent a sore throat, gargle with warm salt water before going to bed.  Half a teaspoon of salt in 8 oz of warm water.  Be careful to not swallow the salt water.

Stress can cause more harm to the throat than anything else. Make sure you take lots of rest the night before you sing, talk less as we want to give maximum rest to the vocal cords.

 

Drink warm milk with a ½ - 1 tsp turmeric at bed time as turmeric is known to be a great healer.
