How many days does it takes to treat UTI by drinking cranberry juice?

Cranberry juice is the most effective home remedy to cure urinary tract infections (UTIs). For a mild infection, it is a given that cranberry juice will eliminate it at once. For stronger infections, however, you may have to work on other remedies as well. Sometimes, cranberry juice alone is simply not enough. Depending upon the strength of the infection and the amount of time it has been around, it could also be necessary for you to take a course of antibiotics in order to get rid of it altogether.

Cranberry juice works well on UTIs because it contains a kind of tannin. Tannin, particularly of this category, is a substance which does not allow the fungus that makes up a UTI to rest easily on the walls of the urinary tract. This is the place where the infection usually tends to take root. Once it does, it begins top grow and fester from here. Since cranberry juice will not allow any kind of infectious substance to take root, it is always advisable to keep drinking it for a few days even after you believe that you have been cured of your UTI. This would keep you on the safe side and specifically resistant in case there is a recurrence of the infection.
