Thyroid nodules remedies

Thyroid nodules are formed when the tissue from the thyroid gland grows abnormally into a nodule, which can sometimes be felt by the person but are mostly unnoticeable. If there are no symptoms that accompany the thyroid nodule, it is probably benign; however if accompanied by symptoms it can prove to be cancerous, so it is advised to get it checked by a doctor to rule out the possibility of cancer. The nodules can not be dissolved using medication or alternate remedies.

However thyroid symptoms are best controlled and eliminated by following strict diet, coupled with adequate rest and a healthy lifestyle in general.

A fresh fruit juice diet is recommended for two days, supplemented by drinking lukewarm water to cleanse the system completely. This can be followed by eating plenty of fresh fruits through out the next few days.

It is important to rest a lot during the first few weeks of this treatment using diet. Thyroid patients should avoid white flour, white sugar, fried or greasy foods, preserves and condiments, caffeine and alcohol. Their diet should be rich in iodine found in asparagus, cabbage, garlic, onion, oats, pineapple, whole rice, tomatoes, watercress and strawberries. If an alarming weight loss is noticed, a compress should be applied to be stomach and neck during the night. This diet should be followed for a year. Emotional stress should be avoided and it is very important to get adequate sleep.
