Treat Sprained Neck Naturally
You must be referring to a neck sprain or kinked neck. A kinked neck is generally a result of injury, muscle strain or spinal conditions. In your case, poor sleeping posture has been the cause.
Place an ice pack to decrease inflammation and pain. Keep it once in two hours for around 20 minutes. Pineapple is a wonder fruit.
This is attributed to bromelain, the chemical enzyme in pineapple. If you are allergic to pineapple, please avoid the same.
Over-the-counter ointments prove beneficial, due to the capsaicin content in them. A massage of the neck with comfrey oil is an excellent remedy. Thyme oil, diluted in warm water is used as a compress. Aescin is a chemical present in horse chestnut. It exhibits anti inflammatory properties, thereby reducing inflammation. Compression in the form of sprain bandages is useful. But, be careful with your neck!
Rest or relaxation is vital for speedy recovery. Placing the neck in an elevated area, such as pillows, during rest is helpful. Simple exercises, such as tilting the neck in the front and back and movement from side to side prove beneficial. If pain is more, avoid doing exercises. Refer to a physiotherapist or physician.
