Help me with interstitial cystitis pain?

Interstitial cystitis is a chronic reoccurring pain in the bladder and the pelvic region. The bladder wall is inflamed and irritated in most of the cases. This inflammation can scar the bladder or make it stiff; as a result a stiff bladder can not expand well when urine fills in leading to pain and other symptoms. Try the following remedies to get rid of the symptoms and pain-

  • Strictly avoid smoking, tobacco, alcohol and acidic foods. Cut down on tomatoes, chocolates, caffeine, spices, citrus drinks, artificial sweeteners, and other acidic foods which irritate your bladder.
  • Bladder distension is another solution where the specialist under anesthesia overfills your bladder with fluid. This helps to stretch the falls of the bladder and ease your condition for some time.
  • Drink lots of fluid and train your bladder to urinate less often.
  • Consult a specialist before starting any medicinal routine for proper guidance and recommendation.
