Natural treatment for muscle pain

  • Alternate hot and cold shower opens and closes the blood vessels which leads to the flushing out of lactic acid which is responsible for muscle pain. For two minutes take a hot shower and then take a cold shower for the next 30 seconds. Repeat this process for 6 to 8 times. You can do this regularly till the muscle pain lasts and after that whenever it aggravates.
  • Massage your calf muscle with coconut oil, olive oil or mustard oil in which at least 5 cloves of garlic has been boiled. You can also boil a handful of carom seeds and 5 or 6 clove spices in mustard oil.
  • Never take a hot bath immediately after some activity. Massage your body, wait for a few hours and then take a hot bath. This will increase your blood circulation and decrease pain in the muscles.
  • Crush some ice cubes and wrap them in a plastic sheet. Cold compress your calf muscles till you feel numb and then wait for a few seconds. Repeat this process for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Ice will reduce any inflammation and cure the pain and soreness.
  • Stretch your calf muscles slowly and do proper warm up before starting any strenuous activities.
