How do you identify throat cancer



Swallowing of food and water becomes difficult. A regular visit to your dentist proves beneficial. Poor breath, continuous oral pain and inflammation of the neck are common symptoms. Throat cancer is a kind of oropharyngeal cancer, along with the pharynx, tonsil and tongue. Simple symptoms, such as toothache are generally disregarded. Self-evaluation or self-examination of the oral cavity is essential. Patches in the mouth, red or white in color is a typical symptom. Pain in jaw movement, poor breath, persistent mouth sores, swallowing problems, loose teeth, lump in the neck, difficulty in tongue movement and voice change are easy ways to identify throat cancer. Pain in the jaw or teeth is also seen. Patches in the cheek and numbness are also indicators of oral cancer. Destruction of the oral DNA appears to be a causative factor. This, in turn results in malfunctioning or improper functioning, resulting in cell mutation. This leads to cancer. Alcohol, chewing tobacco and smoking are great risks. Irritation caused by improperly fitting dentures, increases the risk of cancer. Occupation, demanding outdoor working poses high risks, due to the increased ultraviolet exposure.
