I have had a small white pink patch on my eyelid for the past two years. Is this leucoderma? It has not grown in size or decreased in size. If I use the home-remedies, will it go away?

It could be possibly what you think - leucoderma even known as vitiligo. These patches are caused due to the deficiency of the skin color pigment - melanin. Initially these patches are a bit light, but as time passes they become whiter and may even grow in size. It would be wise to consult a dermatologist to confirm your diagnosis as your patches are not increased or decreased in size and also you have not mentioned whether you have them on any other part of your body. Try the following home remedies for leucoderma -

  • Grind 20 g of radish seeds and mix it in 2tsp vinegar. Apply this paste on your white patches. This is an effective remedy for leucoderma.
  • Take 8 liters of water; add 500 g turmeric in it. Now boil this water till it becomes around 1 liter. Add ½ liter mustard oil in this water and apply this solution on the white patches on your face.
  • Mix fresh ginger juice to red clay (can get it from riversides or hill slopes) in equal proportions. Apply this mixture on the white patches.
