I was very much in Love with my girlfriend but unfortunately she left me and married another guy. From the day she left me my Blood Pressure is not going down and I'm very worried. Can you help me to lower my bp please?

Heartbreak can be one of the most depressing things to happen to anyone. You need to be strong and realize that you and only you have the power to bring your life back to normal. And that includes your blood pressure too.

A pressure of 140/90 mmHg is considered high blood pressure. Normal pressure is anything around 120/80 mmHg. Please remember that too low pressure is not a good thing either. So, here are a few things to keep in mind on your way to good health:

Follow a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, chicken - anything that is low in fat and cholesterol. Pay special attention to the amount of salt you consume. The lower the salt levels, the better it is for your blood pressure to reduce.

If you are a smoker, please consider quitting or at least reducing your daily count. The same goes for alcohol too - if you must drink, do not have more than 2 servings. In a heartbreak phase, the lure of smoking and drinking seems to increase. Be in control of yourself and cultivate other interests.

Finally, remember that the more physically active you are, the better your body will serve you. Go out for a walk, or even better, a jog. Yoga is another great activity to get involved in.
