Unexplained weight loss advice

What's wrong with me? I'm eating regularly, and everything seems normal, but I have still been losing an excessive amount of weight and I have been feeling very sick and tired.

Unexplained weight loss advice

One possible cause of unexplained weight loss is an overactive thyroid gland. The thyroid gland is involved in metabolic activity and any changes in its functioning are signalled by a change in body weight and energy levels, among other things. Although Hyperthyroidism is not as common as hypothyroidism, it has symptoms that can cause stress and discomfort.

One substance that works with both forms of thyroid activity is seaweed known as Kelp. This is full of thyroxine and iodine, both of which are crucial for the normal functioning of the thyroid. Vitamin C is also important as often it is thought that a malfunctioning thyroid gland is due to free radical activity.

Vitamin C has antioxidation properties that help fight free radical damage.

You could try it in its most natural form as available in various citrus fruits such as oranges, persimmons, pears or grapefruit. Rose hips are extremely high in vitamin C and you could try having a tea made from dried rosehips. Eating a diet rich in broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and spinach can help too. The above-mentioned cause is just one possibility though. Sudden weight loss and consequent tiredness could also result from other reasons including extreme stress or some other infection. In order to accurately diagnose the source of this weight loss it is best to consult a trained medical practitioner.
