I have a vertigo problem. How do I cure it

Treating vertigo takes a three pronged approach. Dietary changes, lifestyle changes and supplementation. Some kinds of vertigo are caused by underlying disorders such as diabetes, high triglycerides and hypoglycaemia. Eating a nutritious, high fiber, low saturated fat, low fat diet will help with these conditions. Avoiding sudden spikes in blood sugar levels by eating 4-5 small meals a day instead of 3 big meals is also recommended.

Lifestyle changes involve being careful about sudden movements and not inclining the head at unnatural angles. Bending the head forward and keeping it that way for too long as in when you use a couple of pillows, or bending the head backwards as in when you are painting a wall can cause vertigo. Particularly avoid craning the neck backwards for a long time. A lot of people develop vertigo attacks after inclining their heads for a head wash in a salon. Transition from lying down to sitting and from sitting to standing gradually and step wise. Supplements that may make a difference are Gingko Biloba at a dosage of 120-160 mg a day, vinpocetine at 15mg a day, ginger and Vitamin B6.Some vestibular exercises such as the Cawthorne and Cooksey exercises help improve balance and reduce dizziness.
