My son has a dark neck, due to being overweight. Presently he is not overweight but his neck is still dark.

When sink retains its darkness in such cases, you would have to follow simple methods of pigmentation removal as the problem is that of pigmentation. The most effective remedy for such cases is applying aloe vera gel to the darkened area. Apply and leave on the gel as many times as you like. Alternatively, you can also apply the juice of a lime to the area about twice a day. You can also make squeeze juice from a raw potato and apply this to his neck. Remember to always use sunscreen when going out, since all these substances are natural bleaches and have a tendency to make the skin more sensitive to tanning from the sun.

You can also prepare a cream with equal parts of honey, milk powder, lemon juice and almond powder. This can be applied and washed off after about 30 minutes with warm water and a mild soap. This cream can also be refrigerated for a week. Make a paste of yogurt, powdered oatmeal, a few drops of lime juice and tomato juice; apply this for about half an hour and wash with cold water. Do remember that these remedies will take about a week to a month to show results. But you must keep at it and not give up.
