How to Take Good Care of Your Skin During Spring

by Sam Malone

Nothing gets affected by changing weather the way our skin does. With the changing weather, skin care needs also change drastically. With each changing season, skin care habits also have to be changed in order to make sure that the skin remains healthy and attractive. Since in spring, people prefer spending more time outdoors, a healthy skin care regime becomes a must.

In the recent times, there has been an increased awareness about the changes of weather and the effect it has on the skin. Since in spring time, the air is still dry, the skin is as prone to becoming dry as in winters. If proper precautions for protection from the sun are not taken, the skin not only becomes dry and cracked, but also gets prone to sun burns and other ailments. To make sure that the skin adjusts well to the summer season, proper care of it should be taken in the spring time too.

The following measures should be taken in the spring time to care for your skin:

  • In spring, the make-up should be lighter as compared to the make-up in winters. The base of the make-up should be applied after thoroughly moisturizing the skin. Try and use a liquid base which has moisturizer and sunscreen in it.
  • Tanning in the spring is not a very good idea. In case you do want to work on your tan, use a self tanning lotion instead of lying in the sun and exposing your body to the harsh rays.
  • If you have been outdoors, shower immediately as soon as you are inside your house. This way, you can get rid of bacteria and other harmful microbes which can cause rashes and infections.
  • As the temperatures grow warmer in the spring, it is possible that any acne condition you have may worsen. To keep the skin clean and glowing, wash it every time you come in from the outdoors.
  • Keep your skin safe from any kind of insect repellants. Try and refrain from using any insect repelling creams and ointments as these contain harsh chemicals and can cause allergic reactions. Never apply these chemicals on young children’s skin.
  • Follow a cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine very strictly. Repeat this twice a day – once in the morning and once again before going to sleep.

If you find any abnormalities on your skin, consult a physician immediately.
