Skin Care at Home
Get Glowing Skin at Home
by Kevin Pederson
Radiant and glowing skin is something that everybody aspires to have. The key to achieving this type of skin is good health. There are multitudes of skin care products available in the markets today.
But all of them are of no use, until the basic health of the skin is taken care of. Good skin requires adequate nutrients and these nutrients come from the food that we consume. The dietary habits must be regulated so that each meal is a healthy, balanced meal.
Fresh fruits and vegetables must be consumed in abundance and fried and oily junk food must be avoided at all costs. One must also consume plenty of water and fruits juices so that the skin remains hydrated. Proper cleansing of the skin is also very important. Cleanse your face regularly using mild or natural cleansers. Moisturize after every wash so that the skin does not dry out. Exfoliation should also be done regularly to remove dead skin cells.
One also need not resort to expensive skin care products and cosmetics. There are plenty of natural ingredients available in nature that can be used to create wholesome and nourishing skin care treatments. Here are some simple
natural remedies for glowing skin
. A pack of mashed banana and milk can be applied to the face and left on for half an hour. This will moisturize the skin and make it soft and supple. Honey is a wonderful natural product that is very beneficial for the skin. Mix some honey with an egg white and apply to the skin for fifteen minutes and then wash with lukewarm water. Raw papaya may also be rubbed over the skin. You can also make a face scrub using honey, lime juice and walnut powder. Mix the ingredients well and then gently scrub the face with it for a few minutes.
If your skin is oily, then you can take a couple of teaspoons of fenugreek seeds and soak them overnight. The nest morning, you can add some water and grind the seeds into a thick paste. Rub this over the skin and wash it off after it dries. For dry skin, grind soaked poppy seeds with milk and apply the paste to the skin. This will moisturize dry skin and make it supple. An excellent remedy for the skin is to rub an ice cube of lemon grass water over the face and neck when you come from outdoors. This will cleanse the skin and tighten the pores.
