Remedies for eczema
suggested by Jenn on Monday, June 11, 2007

My eczema is allergy based, most cases are. My eczema gets so bad that it has left scars. I don't like using medications that the doctors perscribe if I don't have to. I find that natural works better anyways. For the inflammation use any type of mint oil mixed (peppermint is a really good choice) in a carrier oil so that it does not irritate the skin. Get a vitamin E oil (one that has grapeseed oil in it or add that yourself) add about 20 drops each of the following...tea tree, lavender, chammomile, and patchouli oils. Orally take Evening Primrose (as an added bonus it is supposed to raise your metabolisim), Flax seed, and Omega 3, 6 and 9. I have used all of these with great success. I usually have to only do this about once out of a year. Also any natural shower gel and lotion with sea weed and algea helps a lot.

pure shea butter treatment
suggested by [unspecified] on Monday, May 28, 2007

I have eczema on my nose and the best treatment for me is to use 100% pure shea butter (refined or unrefined). I apply it at least twice a day. I also use Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion Fragrance Free with colloidal oatmeal(green packaging)and it works very well. There are different ones, but this works well for me. You may want to try Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturizing cream (blue packaging). It has more cooling properties for those who need relief. I hope this helps! God Bless!

suggested by [unspecified] on Tuesday, May 22, 2007

I asked god to pray for me so that i could get rid of my eczema. The next day somehow a stick of butter had gotten on my table and I thought to myself, this must be a sign. Now my eczema is completely cleared because I rub a stick of butter on my skin everyday!

I asked a Bishop friend of mine to pray and ask the Lord what I can use my eczema on my upper arms. This is what Holy Spirit told the Bishop for me to use: In the day time use hydro cortisone(this you can buy in the drug store, in comes in cream form or an ointment). At night put petroleum Vaseline on the affected area. (it worked for me)

Skin fungal infection
suggested by Jitka on Monday, May 7, 2007

The skin with eczema will have lost much of its natural protection over time. Fungal infection can then occur and moisturizing makes the situation worse. What worked for me: scrub the skin gently with a scrub glove and pure tea tree oil in the shower. After showering gently dry off. Then rub more tea tree oil and pure vitamin E oil all over the skin. Wear 100% cotton. Resist the urge to moisturize - use more Vitamin E and tea tree oil if you need to. I found that eating sugar made the itching worse, so removing that from the diet was also helpful. I now have only a tiny spot of eczema on my neck.

Solution

Odd, but I got this idea from several recommend key ingredients suggested by others on various websites. The Key ingredients being: Mineral Oil, Petroleum, Vitamin E & Shark Liver oil. The itching was driving me insane so I rummaged through my medicine cabinet and grabbed a tube of Hemorrhoid ointment ... the itching stopped IMMEDIATELY. The brand used is a generic one manufactured by Healthy Generations. Taking into consideration that Hemorrhoidal creams/ointments contain ingredients to reduce swelling & itching - it's an obvious choice - and much more preferable than dangerous steroid creams.
