Osteoarthritis is also called degenerative joint disease or OA. It is a most common form of arthntis. The common symptoms of osteoarthritis are pain, swelling and reduced motion in your joints. It can occur in any joint of your body. It affects your hands, knees, hips and spine. Therefore, it is a bone related disease. There are many causes of osteoarthritis like you may be overweight or you are getting older. Sometimes injury in the joint may cause Osteoarthritis.

Diabetes may cause nerve problems and thus, it may cause osteoarthritis.

People, those who had an accident sometime before may develop symptoms of osteoarthritis, it is because due to accident, it affects cartilage in your joints; the cartilage is the tissue which is slippery and it acts as a cover to the bone endings in a joint. If the cartilage is healthy then it will take up the shock movement and when it is not healthy then it will cause your bones rub together. Therefore, due to rubbing it can damage your joint permanently. This is one of the major Causes of osteoarthritis.

Sometimes, due to lack of physical activity or varied movement it can weaken the muscles that support the joints and decrease joint flexibility. Therefore, an unused joint may become stiff, painful and prone to injury and osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis affects cartilage in your joints; the cartilage is the slippery tissue that covers the ends of bones in a joint. If the cartilage is healthy then it will absorbs the shock movement and when it is not healthy then it will cause your bones rub together. Therefore, due to rubbing it can damage your joint permanently.
