My skin is oily but now days due to dry weather my skin is dry. I have open pores on skin,,plz give me some home remedy to solve this problem

From your question, it seems that there are two distinct problems to take care of – one of oily and dry skin and the other of open pores on the skin. Let’s tackle them individually. Open facial pores are a problem because they allow dirt, dead skin cells and bacteria to collect in them ultimately leading to whiteheads, blackheads and acne. The best treatment for open pores is deep cleansing followed by a pore minimizer. You can use your daily facial cleanser, facial scrub or a more intensive face mask to deep clean the skin the on your face. This helps really get into the pores and remove all the dirt and bacteria collected within. After washing well, apply a toner or astringent to close up the pores and tighten the skin. There are a variety of cosmetic products designed to do this available to fit all skin types and budgets. If you prefer to go more natural, you can try the following homemade face masks and scrubs to deep clean your pores:

  • Make a thick paste of Brewer’s yeast and water. Apply this mask to the face for ten to fifteen minutes until it dries. Rinse with cold water and dry well.
  • Another excellent deep cleanser is honey. Simply apply a later of honey mixed with yoghurt to the face and leave on for 20 minutes before rinsing. The honey kills any bacteria in the pores and prevents acne while the yoghurt exfoliates the skin naturally.
  • Some effective natural astringents are witch hazel, cucumber slices and lemon juice.
If your regular cleansing and toning routine is not helping much, consult with a dermatologist to discuss alternatives such as microdermabrasion, chemical face peels and laser resurfacing of the skin. While these professional treatments are more invasive and expensive, they also help treat other skin problems such as age spots, wrinkles, and acne in addition to open pores.

With reference to tips for oily and dry skin, you can try the following home remedies:

  • For Oily Skin: Apply lemon juice to the face to remove blackheads and prevent greasy skin. Rosewater mixed with the lemon juice works well if your skin reacts badly to only lemon juice.
  • Drink herbal teas such as lavender, chamomile or sage to internally balance the production of oil in the skin.
  • Milk of magnesia applied to the face helps control blackheads and acne caused by oily skin.
  • For Dry Skin: Olive oil is an excellent natural moisturizer for dry skin. A thin layer applied to the face also provides the skin with antioxidants and essential fatty acids for a beautiful appearance.
  • Exfoliate dry skin with yoghurt and mashed papaya. This helps remove dead cells without damaging sensitive and chapped skin.
  • Apply honey to your face and lips to treat chapped and dry skin and to keep your skin moist and healthy.
