My kid is suffering from body rashes and itching a lot. The rash appears red and is spreading. Every rash stays about 10 min on her body and disappears. Can you please help me in this?

Rashes are inflammation of the skin, and are red itchy or non itchy sometimes accompanied with a burning sensation. Rashes could spread to the entire body or be confined to a specific area. Rashes could also result due to number of reasons such as adverse reaction to chemicals in clothing and dyes, detergents, soaps, perfumes and so on.

You may try the following home remedies for relief from itching:

  • Rinse the area with chamomile tea.
  • Pat the rash with comfrey tea or calcium water. Method of preparing calcium water - Mix a spoon of calcium gluconate powder to 1 cup water.
  • Applying cod liver oil is also effective in curing body rashes.
  • Eat foods rich in Vitamin C as they help to combat rashes.
  • Rub margosa leaves gently to the rash for about 20 to 30 seconds. Continue this treatment for 15 days.
The immune system of a child does not totally develop until he is about 7 years old. If the problem persists, then get the rash checked out by an experienced dermatologist to check for food allergies, digestive functions and immunity.
