Cures For Dry Cough: I Am Coughing Since 2 Months. I Am Finding It Difficult To Cough Out Phlegm. I Have Done All Blood Tests, X-Ray And Antibiotics But No Use. Please Advice.

If you have already got all your tests done, then chances are you are not suffering from any of the common causes that lead to coughing. But since you have been coughing for the last two months, it would be a good idea to consult with your physician and rule out those reasons that we usually don’t consider as causes for coughing. These could be anything from the beginning of certain allergies, the beginning of asthma, reaction to certain medicines, the level of humidity in your house, to the acid that is produced in your stomach moving up your esophagus.

In the meantime, you can try out some of these home remedies for coughing at home and see if they help. Since it is dry cough that you are suffering from, the first thing that you need to do is try and get the phlegm out. The best remedy to get the phlegm out is to add one teaspoon of turmeric powder to one glass of milk. Boil the milk along with the turmeric and then add a pinch of salt to it. Drink this mixture every night before going to sleep. This remedy will slowly but steadily start dissolving and getting the phlegm out of your system. In fact, this is something that you can continue to have for the rest of life as turmeric powder has natural healing properties. Turmeric powder also takes care of the soreness in your throat that usually accompanies dry cough.

Grapes too help in clearing your lungs of mucus. You can either eat them on a regular basis or else have it as a juice. If you are going to have it as a juice, add a little bit of honey to it. Honey has the amazing ability to double the properties of whatever it is added to. So, if you add honey to the juice, it will increase the effectiveness of the juice.

Likewise, if you can stand it, extract at least a cup full of onion juice. To this add at least four tablespoons of honey. Onion juice is another excellent ingredient that will help you to remove the phlegm. You can also prepare a mixture of crushed pepper, crushed cloves and enough honey to make it into a small teaspoon full of paste. Consume this paste every morning for at least a month. Another mixture that will help to cure dry cough is a combination of poppy seeds, coconut milk, and honey.

Call a professional to check for mildew around the house. I also too had a coughing problem for three months. The answer was mildew behind the wall paper in the bathroom.

Cough is the response of the body to a stimulus of throat ,lung or bronchial tube inflammation. Try these techniques:

  • Steam inhalation liquifies and loosens the mucus and reduces irritation.
  • Vitamin (A, C, E) supplements prove beneficial.
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper + 1 Tablespoon honey + 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger + 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar + 2 Tablespoons water is mixed and taken thrice a day. It relieves you of dry cough and removes the phlegm.
  • Hot packs placed on your chest is soothing.
  • Sleeping with your head on a higher plane is helpful in draining the passages.
