Foods such as chocolates, nuts, strawberries, cinnamon and peanut butter can also trigger canker sores. Therefore, it is not advisable to have peanut butter when having a canker sore.
There are various remedies that can help you get rid of canker sores. Firstly, you have to change your dietary habits. Avoid eating sweets, sugar, citrus foods and all refined foods that may cause acidity. You also need to reduce the intake of sodas and alcohol that stimulate secretion of stomach acid.
Check the food that you are allergic to. Cut down on grains or any allergic food that you think have caused canker sores. Consume more of buttermilk, cheese, yogurt and kefir. You can even rinse your mouth with aloe vera juice.
Alum is another effective cure for canker sores. Alum gives burning sensation but still is the best solution for alleviating canker sores. Antacids formulas mainly magnesium milk and Mylanta can be used as mouth rinse or can be sprinkled directly on the canker. This cure is effective for alleviating pain.
