PHLEGM IN THROAT REMEDY: HOW TO GET RID OF PHLEGM IN THAT BACK OF MY THROAT THAT MAKES ME COUGH

There are various reasons for the formation of phlegm but the most common ones are related to a runny nose, sinusitis or allergies. Phlegm is normally yellow, green, brown or gray. Since there could be other, more serious reasons for the development of phlegm, it is always a good idea to consult a medical practitioner.

If you have phlegm as a result of a cold or a runny nose you will find yourself spitting up quantities of congealed mucous. Although the sight of the congealed yellow stuff that you are spitting up may seem repulsive, you should know that phlegm is good for you. Phlegm is the result of the fight your mucous membranes are putting up on your behalf, against any stray infections that you may have picked up. Coughing helps bring up this mucous and eject it from your body – which is good for you. Inhaling some eucalyptus oil will certainly help you get rid of the Phlegm. Add two or three drops of eucalyptus oil to a pot of really hot water. You can inhale the steam rising from this. Draping a towel over your head and then inhaling the steam makes more effective use of the medicated steam. Eating a few cloves of Garlic will also help you find some relief. If you cannot face the thought of eating raw garlic, then bruise two or three cloves, and boil them in a cup of milk over a low flame till the milk is reduced to one third and drink it at bedtime.
