Prognosis of Trigeminal Neuralgia

The prognosis for those with trigeminal neuralgia depends on the cause. Evidence suggests that an early diagnosis along with prompt treatment can help to arrest the damage to the trigeminal nerve. In cases where there is no detectable cause, treatment can provide some relief from the pain. However, in some cases, the pain may become constant and severe.
