Living with Rickets

Apart from making the necessary changes to your diet, living with rickets also demands a sufficient amount of time spent exposed to natural sunlight. This is important to prevent the recurrence of the disease. Experts suggest fifteen minutes a day without any sun protection or sunscreen. Any more than that and you may risk other problems or skin disorders. Children and people with fair skin should be especially careful about being in the sun. Keep in mind that dark skinned children are at a higher risk for rickets and may need slightly longer exposure to the sun to make any impact on the condition.
