Urinary Tract Infections

Grapefruit seed extract has changed my life! Can find it at natural food stores. Use about 10-15 drops in juice or water best in orange juice. UTI will get better after first use. GSE is great for many things.

Drink fresh young coconut juice. It's found in Asian food stores and restaurants (mostly filipino places). It cleanses the body and relieves UTI symptoms almost immediately.

Buchu Herb
suggested by C on Tuesday, February 27, 2007

After suffering for months and going to a specialist, I did my own research and found an herb called Buchu. I bought it and was "Cured" practically overnight! (within two days) It helped a friend of mine, too. I also heard of taking alka seltzer at the very first feeling of UTI and (unhappily) got the chance to try it a few months ago, and it worked! You are supposed to take it at the first sign for it to work, and I did, and it did!

My daughter suffered from UTI for a year. After taking D Mannose regularly, she avoided recurring infections. It is safe, inexpensive and can be purchased on the internet.

Dissolve two Airborne tablets in half a glass of water (4-6 oz.) and drink. It works best at first signs of UTI, but also works later. UTI was gone in about three hours. Saved my trip to Hawaii!

Hydrogen Peroxide
suggested by v on Thursday, January 25, 2007

I had a UTI a couple of weeks ago and so was searching for natural remedies and came across a lot of sites about hydrogen peroxide. People are drinking it for all kinds of things. Anyway I didn't want to do that so I tried a few other things. Nothing worked and I was in pain so I went for it! I mixed 1/2 oz hydrogen peroxide with a little water (the 3% food grade kind I bought it at a health food store...not the kind in the brown bottle you get at the grocery store) and drank it. It made me a little sick to my stomach but not enough to actually vomit. However because I felt a little unsure about drinking peroxide I decide not to do it again. BUT about 3 days later my infection was completely GONE!!!

For two and a half years, I would get a UTI at least once a month. I made three changes to my diet, and haven't had a UTI in over a year: 1)Eat a fistful of dried cranberries every night before bed. 2)Drink lots of water. 3)Avoid refined sugars and carbohydrates as much as possible. Hope this helps!
