Prognosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder


The prognosis for Narcissistic Personality Disorder is poor if left untreated. Depending on the severity of the disorder, several complications can develop such as:

  • Alcohol abuse
  • Drug abuse or substance abuse
  • Depression
  • Inability to maintain healthy relationships
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Problems in social relations at school or in the workplace
