Symptoms of Fractures


Depending on the age, physical condition, and the severity of the injury, signs and symptoms of fractures vary from one person to another. In general, those who have a fractured bone experience these following symptoms:

  • Pain at the site of the injury
  • Swelling
  • Bruising and discoloration of the skin
  • The injured limb may be bent at an unnatural angle
  • The individual is unable to move the affected limb
  • The individual cannot put any weight on the injured limb
  • There is bleeding at the site and the broken bone has pierced the skin
  • There may be a grating sensation in the injured joint
  • Dizziness, nausea and even fainting due to the extreme pain
