Treatment for tough skin

How to toughen thin skin
( 5 Oct 2007)

Without knowing where the skin is that you want to toughen it is difficult to answer this question. If it is your hands or feet, unfortunately it is a matter of ‘toughing’ it out and you will be surprised at how quickly your skin will toughen if you are doing repetitive work using your hands and feet.

If you are wanting to protect and strengthen the skin as an overall approach to skin care, where maybe age is making the skin more fragile then the best approach is to use Vitamin C, 1000mg three times daily (which can be reduced if it is cause loose bowel movements), and Zinc 15mg in combination with a quality Vitamin B Complex tablet.

Bed sores in elderly people and where skin that is fragile and susceptible to tearing can also be treated with a topical lotion that is soothing and healing at the same time:

General Healing Antiseptic
Golden Seal        20ml
Calendula        20ml
St Johns Wort        20ml
Sage            10ml
Marshmallow Root    20ml (Comfrey root is better if you can get it.)
Witch hazel        20ml

NOTE: this is a topical lotion only.
