What home care for staph infection needed?

Staph infections are of many types. The infections are caused by a bacteria of the genus staphylococcus. Most staphylococcus species are harmless and extremely common, but some, such as the staphylococcus aureus, cause a variety of infections, ranging from minor problems like pimples and boils to slightly more serious skin conditions such as abscesses, and even potentially fatal diseases such as pneumonia and meningitis.

Commonly however, the term "staph infection" is used to refer to the skin problems that are caused by these bacteria, such as pimples, boils, styes, and abscesses. Without knowing what exact problem your staph infection is causing, it is difficult to provide a useful remedy. You have also not mentioned the extent of the problem. For a minor infection, you can apply some basic home remedies such as tea tree oil and aloe vera gel (or freshly broken aloe leaves) to the affected areas of your skin. You can also crush a clove or two of garlic and gently rub it on the affected areas. A hot compress also helps - take a hot water bottle or a soft cloth soaked in warm water and place it against your skin for about half an hour at a time. However, if the infection has caused an abscess or a large number of boils, you should visit a doctor.
