If you want to get a tan and have no lotion, you can use olive oil or baby oil to put on your skin. Both are very mosturizing and beneficial to your skin. I do not recommend using either if you burn very easily. You should always wear sunscreen while in the sun.

Suntan generally occurs in working people and those who frequently go outdoors. Some simple home remedies which can be easily followed at home are given below:

1. Make a mixture of grated cucumber with milk and apply it on the suntanned skin.

2. Regular application of calamine lotion provides relief.

3. Pour sugarless cool mint tea on the burnt area. The tannins in the tea help in the healing process.

4. Dab your skin with cool whole milk for 15 minutes and the rinse it off with cool water.

Spread wet towels around the affected area for 10-15 minutes several times a day to soothe the suntan.

5. Spread cucumber slices on the burn as it provides relief.

6. Rub bruised onions on sun burn for a week.
