Health advice on nasal congestion
  • Crush a handful of carom seeds and tie them in a handkerchief. Put it near his pillow when your child sleeps at night. Inhaling its smell will provide relief from the congestion.
  • If you are drinking cow’s milk in the house the try and stop drinking it for a few days. If the nasal congestion is better then the milk might be the reason as it forms mucus in some people. You can switch it with buffalo’s milk.
  • Give your child the homeopathic medicine Puls atilla 6c before going off to sleep and do not let him eat or drink anything after it. This medicine is available at Whole Food Markets.
  • You can prepare chicken soup at home and put lots of black pepper powder in it. Drinking it will clear the nose. Try and do this before bedtime as sleeping with a clear nose might reduce his allergy further.
  • Put one teaspoon of cardamom seeds on hot coals and make your child inhale it.
  • Boil water in a container and put half a teaspoon of any balm in it. Cover your child’s head with a towel and make him inhale the steam for at least 10 minutes and then ask him to blow his nose.
