Treatment for painful and sore tongue -

A simple rub of the tongue against the teeth gives rise to a sore tongue. Irregularities in the teeth and occurrence of plaque in back of the teeth increase the risk of soreness. A wild kiss also can go haywire causing soreness!!! Biting the tongue out of anxiety is a common affair. In the old, improperly fitted dentures are seen to cause oral thrush. Regular mouth ulcers call for a physician's assistance. Simple painkillers are of great relief. Deficiency of B complex vitamins are also one of the major causes. Supplements are of great help. Brushing the tongue and teeth in an effective manner gets rid of major oral problems. A mouthwash rinse is also recommended. Alcohol and caffeinated beverages are avoided. Chewing of betel nuts is also not preferred. Dehydration is a major culprit in many underlying complications. Adequate intake of water is recommended. Excessive usage of antibiotics or drug abuse also results in a sore tongue. Dehydrated alum is powdered and made into a paste with honey. This is applied on the sores. A warm glass of milk is drunk with half a teaspoon of turmeric.
